Where it started

From ten birds in a back garden.

Tim started in 2016 with ten birds in his back garden. Now he and Bryony rear turkeys and chickens at Dummer Down Farm, near Basingstoke, and in 2026 their turkey won a Great Taste Award.

They wanted a new website that felt, in their words, country, rustic and warm, and not just about Christmas. So it’s built from Tim’s own photos, engraved illustrations and wild flowers, with a 26 week journey on the homepage that follows a turkey from the day it arrives to the Christmas table.

Ordering a turkey

The turkey page: a whole bird or a crown, Pasture Reared Hampshire Turkey at £128.00 for 7kg, and a row of weights from 5kg to 10kg

Pick a weight, pay, collect.

There’s a whole bird from 5kg to 10kg and a crown from 4kg to 6kg. Every weight has its own price and says how many it serves. Birds can weigh up to 1kg either side of the band, and the price stays the same.

Customers pay by card through Stripe and collect from the farm on 23 December. Anyone who needs a delivery leaves a note at checkout.

The staff page

Every order, ready for collection day.

Tim and Bryony sign in to a staff page on the same website. It counts down to collection day and shows what to get ready, weight by weight. Each order moves from new, to ready, to collected.

It prints a label for every box with the customer’s name, their order, any note and the collection time, four to a sheet of plain A4. There’s a collection list by surname for the table on the day, and a spreadsheet of every order. Prices and stock change in one place, and stock goes down by itself when an order is paid.
